Description
If you are an armor enthusiast, you are likely familiar with the Kettle Hat that this Morion Boat Helmet took the place of at the turning of the 16th century and well into the 17th century. It traditionally featured an unusual crest or “comb” that was used to strengthen construction and deflect blows however; it became more exaggerated on later models as a decorative piece. Although the Morion is most commonly associated with Spanish, foot soldiers throughout Europe wore it as well. This Morion Boat Helmet has been crafted from 18-gauge steel, lined with leather and given a chin strap so it is durable and comfortable.
