Description
This suit of armor is a reproduction, likely late 19th or early 20th Century. The armor has a well made of 18g steel Italian style barbute helmet. The skull is a 1 piece forging with a rivet applied reinforcement for the sight and breath opening. The bottom edge is rolled and there is an etched maker’s mark on the right side. The maker’s mark shows the outline of a man over the initials “WR”. The remainder of the components have the fluted Gothic style features. There is a lug on the left side of the breast plate for attaching the removable lance rest. Condition: Very good, there are some areas of minor pitting overall along wiht some areas of heavy pitting on the tasetts. The black painted base has numerous scratches and scuffs as well as some old holes drilled in the top for mounting. A nice example of quality workmanship.
