Description
A lorica segmentata is the segmented Roman armor made of strips of metal or leather. Worn in the 1st and 2nd centuries A.D., it never made the mail shirt (lorica hamata) obsolete. It was more rigid and more difficult to put on than a mail shirt, but was considered an impressive, reliable form of protection. Historians and researchers assume that the leather variant of this armor was used for training purposes. This lorica segmentata is made of thick belt leather in glowing brown. The individual strips are attached to each other and it has metal buckles that adjust to fit a variety of shapes and sizes. MANUFACTURED & SOLD BY NAUTICALMART INC.
